Landscaping at Warralilly Estate, Armstrong Creek

March 12, 2013

We recently finished the complete landscaping of two display homes at the exciting new Warralilly, Armstrong Creek Estate for boutique builder – Palladium Homes. These wonderful gardens were designed by renowned Local Geelong Landscape Architects – Mexted Rimmer. Native and indigenous plants have been used to great effect as low lying shrubs and ground covers alongside some other hardy species such as Crab Apple and Magnolia. Remember to look out for other wonderful natives such as Callistemon, Lily Pily, Correa, Dianella and Lomandra when you get out to Warralilly Estate to have a look around.  It is worth the trip!

Wonderful sandstone crazy paving in Armstrong Creek (pavers supplied by Better Bricks and Pavers, Moolap) was installed in the rear courtyards in combination with a sleek and modern ground level timber deck made from FSC hardwood. The result is a stunning, natural and relaxed outdoor entertainment area. Tip: Seal your decking annually to maintain the woods natural colour and lustre and prevent it from deteriorating under the harsh Australian sun.

Natural tones and colours enhanced the look of each house in the front gardens with the use of coloured concrete pavers in Armstrong Creek to create pathways and also natural Bluestone pavers as steppers, set in Riverstone pebbles.

These paved pathways contrasted nicely with the Lilydale pathways we constructed down the blindside of the house and out the back. For the more budget conscious, did you know that compacted Lilydale toppings offer a cheaper alternative to paved or concreted paths and look great for all house and garden designs?

Timber mulch was added to the garden beds to protect the plants whilst they became established and it provide a wonderful contrast to the smooth look of the pebbles.
